Why is this free?

Fair question. When software is free, people wonder what the catch is. Here's ours, plainly: there isn't one — and here's how that works.

The free app is genuinely free.

Not a trial. Not a demo that stops working. The app we build for your trade runs on your computer, keeps your jobs and clients and invoices, and never asks for a credit card. You can use it that way forever.

So how do we make money?

Some businesses outgrow one computer. When you want your phone and your laptop showing the same jobs, or you want to take card payments and use the AI document drafting, that's the paid plan — $39.99 a month. Businesses that choose it pay for everyone's lights.

That's the whole business model. If you never upgrade, you cost us almost nothing — we built one engine and it makes every trade's app from the same parts. Giving the free version away is cheap for us and useful for you.

What about my information?

The free app can't send us your business data even if we wanted it to — everything it saves stays on your computer. We can't sell what we never receive. There are no ads in the app, and there never will be.

More on this on the Where is my data? page.

Why give it away at all?

The big field-service tools were built for companies with fleets and office staff, and priced that way. The person running a business out of a truck gets software that doesn't know their trade. We'd rather you run your business on something built for it — and if it earns your trust, some of you will want the paid features. That's a fair trade, and it only works if the free app is actually good.

In one sentence: the free app is free because it costs us little to give and earns your trust — and trust is what sells the paid plan to the businesses that need it.
